A community built on trust

Your privacy.
Our shared responsibility.

Standalone community conversations are public. Calendars, events, and their related conversations are available only to people with a current, verified connection to the relevant organization. Your email stays private.

What we keep.

We keep your email address, chosen display name, protected password, account dates, email confirmation, and acceptance of the community rules. When you participate, we keep your conversations, messages, events, and their dates. If you choose to add a place to a conversation, we also keep its map coordinates and any place label you provide. We keep your organization connection requests, their status and expiry, and private steward verification records. We also keep private reports and information needed to protect accounts, prevent abuse, and deliver account emails.

We do not ask for your address, legal name, phone number, proof of residency, contacts, or location permission at signup. Confirming your email shows access to an inbox; it does not verify where you live or your relationship to a school or organization.

What your neighbors can see.

Standalone conversations and their messages are public, including your chosen display name and the date you posted. They can be read without signing in and may be copied or appear in search engines. Do not post personal details you want to keep private, including someone else’s information.

Calendar events and conversations linked to those events are member-only. Other people need their own current, verified connection to the relevant organization to view them. Members can see the chosen names attached to contributions in that group. Creating an account alone does not publish your name. Your email, password, recovery details, connection requests, and reports are not shown to other members. There is no public member directory.

Business websites and editing roles.

We keep the business identity, website content and design choices, hosting preference, ownership review, editor invitations, accepted or revoked access, and an audit history of changes. Unpublished drafts and management pages require the owner or a current accepted editor. Hosting, publication, and access settings are owner-only. Service operators maintain the database and review records. Verification confirms the reviewed relationship to a business; it is separate from Town permits and endorsement.

Published business content, including any public address or contact email you enter, is available without sign-in and may appear in search engines. The owner's display name appears publicly only when the owner enables attribution. Account emails and editor lists are not published. Offering editing access uses an exact existing account email and sends an invitation inside the application. The recipient must accept before editing; accepted editors share their display name with the business owner. The owner can revoke access. Website editing does not grant access to private restaurant plans, customer records, or restricted events. An external business website has its own privacy practices.

Your restaurant planning records.

If you use the restaurant-opening prototype, we keep the business name and proposed premises address, activity choices, preparation checklists, your reported progress, optional application references and notes, and a history of status changes. These records are visible through the application only to your account. Service operators maintain the underlying database and backups. Keep tax IDs, identity documents, financial details, and employee information out of the planner.

The prototype does not upload documents, send applications, make payments, or share your planning records with the Town. Following an official application link takes you to that authority's system and privacy practices. Planning records remain until removed with an account request or applicable operator retention process; protected backups can retain earlier copies.

Private connection reviews.

You can request a connection by selecting an organization and your relationship to it. The request form does not accept documents or ask for children’s names. A trusted steward reviews each request separately and records the approval, its basis, and its expiry privately. Sending a request or confirming your email does not grant access. Pending, expired, or ended connections do not unlock calendars or related conversations. You can see your own request status in My connections.

Your private school connections.

When school household details are provided for your account, we keep the child’s chosen alias, school, grade, and optional classroom and teacher information. These details appear in your own navigation and school pages while you have a current, verified connection to that school. Other members cannot see your child’s alias or household details, including other verified members of the same school. A teacher link shows your own classroom connection; it does not open a class roster or another family’s information.

A child’s alias is not a resident account. Adding household details does not verify a school connection or grant calendar access. These records are private account information maintained by authorized stewards; they can help with corrections or removal. Signup and connection requests still do not ask for children’s names.

Calendar copies you choose to save.

Signed-in members can download calendar files for the organizations they are authorized to view. These files contain event details and are private copies; keep them in a calendar account you trust and avoid sharing them outside the group. Your account email is not included. Importing a download into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook does not automatically receive later changes. Calendar URL subscriptions in outside apps are unavailable because access requires member sign-in.

You can edit or cancel your own events while you have access. Cancellation remains visible to members so they can see changed plans. Copies already saved by members or their calendar apps may remain after an event changes or a connection ends.

Places you choose to share.

Adding a map pin to a standalone conversation is optional. A pin and its label are public, just like your message. Choose a public place and avoid sharing home addresses or sensitive locations. A conversation pin describes a place you chose to discuss; it does not confirm where you live or where you are. The map does not request your device’s location. If you added a place, you can use Remove place in your conversation to withdraw its pin and label.

Removing a message or reporting a concern.

You can remove your own messages using the Remove control beside each message while you have access to its conversation. The conversation will show that a message was removed. A copy may remain in protected backups or in a private report so stewards can investigate abuse. Removal cannot erase copies other people have already made.

Use Report beside a message to flag a concern. For a concern about an event, contact the community stewards through the contact below. Reports are visible to community stewards, who can review the reported message and take action. The person you report does not see your report or your email.

Who looks after your information.

Authorized community stewards can access account information, connection reviews, reports, and email delivery records to maintain the service, respond to your requests, and investigate abuse. They must protect this information and any backups. Passwords are stored in a protected form; stewards do not need your password or confirmation codes.

Account confirmation and password recovery emails go to the address you provide. Your email provider handles those messages after delivery.

Cookies and outside services.

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and protect forms. We do not use advertising, social login, or third-party analytics. The site loads its own styles and scripts. Conversations refresh while you’re viewing them; you can also use the site without JavaScript.

A link shared by a member may take you to another website. That website has its own privacy practices.

Your choices and account requests.

You can read public conversations without joining, choose a display name, request an organization connection, remove your messages, and edit or cancel your events while you have access. Active account information and connection records are kept while needed to provide the service and review access. Unfinished signup information and temporary email delivery records are cleaned up on a regular schedule. Reports may be kept to investigate abuse, and protected backups may retain deleted information until they expire.

For a copy of your information, corrections, account deletion, or a privacy concern, contact m.watabe@gmail.com. The stewards can explain the applicable retention and backup schedule. Never include your password or a confirmation code.
